Hey, I’m Craig Halloran. I write fantasy stories where the heroes get knocked down, the villains make you question who’s really the bad guy, and the action keeps rolling from start to finish. I’ve been at it since 2008 and have written over 100 books, including The Darkslayer, The Chronicles of Dragon, The Supernatural Bounty Hunter Files, and The Henchmen Chronicles.
I grew up reading fantasy and staying up way too late playing Dungeons & Dragons, driving my Dungeon Masters crazy. Those nights taught me how to tell stories that keep people turning pages and I try to bring that same energy to my books. You’ll find cursed swords, dark magic, epic battles, and characters that feel like they could walk right off the page.
I write epic fantasy, sword & sorcery, supernatural thrillers, and post-apocalyptic adventures. My heroes fight hard, my villains are clever, and my worlds are messy and unpredictable, just like life.
When I’m not writing, I’m probably watching football, reading comics, or planning my next story. I’m also a veteran and former military police officer, which has given me plenty of real-life experience to draw from when crafting battles and characters who survive against the odds.

A lot of readers ask how I got into writing, so here is the quick version.
I grew up on old-school fantasy like Shannara, Conan, Dragonlance, the Forgotten Realms, along with a steady diet of comics, D&D, and anything with a sword, spell, or monster in it. Those stories shaped the way I write today: fast, direct, action-first, with big personalities and bigger battles. I have never been a fan of slow, overly wordy fantasy. I want momentum. I want energy. I want characters who feel alive.
Movies played a big part too. Think Lethal Weapon, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mad Max, Reign of Fire, Escape from New York. I love tight teams, great banter, and heroes who can take a beating and keep going. Westerns also influenced me in a big way. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Unforgiven, Pale Rider. Those classics helped shape how I write towns, tension, and showdowns.
My background also shows up in my books. I served in the Air Force as a Security Policeman and M 60 gunner, then went to college, worked a mix of jobs, and collected more experiences than I expected. All of that ends up in the characters, their grit, humor, stubbornness, and heart.
I started writing by sending funny stories and reviews to friends. They pushed me to try something bigger. That became The Darkslayer, which grew into a million-word world and kicked off everything that followed. My goal has always been the same: write fast-paced stories that anyone can pick up and enjoy, especially readers who do not usually like reading. I still get messages from kids, parents, teachers, veterans, and people who never thought they would love a book. Those mean the world to me.
Since then, I have written a lot of series, and they are all connected in one way or another. If you dig around, you will spot the Easter eggs.
